Strangely enough, one of these items turned up on the BBC2
programme "Flog It" in the last day or two. It was a pestel without
its mortar, made in London, but unmarked, in the mid 1600s and was
valued at a few hundred pounds. If it had had a founder's mark on it
this value would have gone towards £1000.
