I discovered from the person who came to service the clock today at Nafferton (who is also a
ringer in West Yorkshire) that there is a clock chime called Nafferton Chimes.

He knows of one church near Chesterfield that has this chime. Does anyone know of any
other places that use it, and why there are called Nafferton Chimes.

After a search on the internet I found a site that lists all the different chimes http://
www.bhi.co.uk/hints/chimes.htm) and it says:

Nafferton
1st quarter 1,2,3,1
2nd quarter 3,1,2,3, 3,2,3,1
3rd quarter1,3,2,1, 1,2,1,3, 1,2,3,1
4th quarter 3,1,2,3, 3,1,2,1, 3,2,1,2, 1,2,3,1
Notes: 1=F# 2=G# 3=A#
