I've been trying to help identify the founder of the 1696 bell at St James,
Barbados, without any success.

Is anybody going to the cricket next month and can have a good look at it?
Failing that, does anybody have Sir Cliff Richard's email address - he has a
home on the island!

David.

HISTORICAL STRUCTURES
THE OLD CHURCH BELL 1696

The original bell carrying the inscription "God Bless King William 1696"
fell from its hanging and was badly cracked in 1881. Its historic value
being appreciated at that time, it was retained as a monument and a new bell
was made in 1882 and paid for by public subscription. This bell is still
used today. It bears the inscription, 'To the glory of God. Presented by
some Proprietor to St. James' Church 1882'.
