The bell is rung a little way over half way up. It is not possible to ring the bell full circle because the rope goes in at the top of the wheel and there is a clock hammer in the way (the headstock crashes into it if it goes too high). Today the bell was rung as high as it could be with the current rope length which lead to it getting just over frame height. This is plenty high enough and makes a very satisfying noise!
