We have now had an engineers report from Adrian Dempster and firms suggested by the local assocation have visited.
In some cases there have been supplementary visits from firms' health and safety officers and from specialist pigeon muck removers.
(Guano going v cheap, apply online!)

We await developments, and remain grateful to the Keltek trust for kick starting this process.

Ideally the 10 bells will remain in the diocese, but if not I appreciate the need to keep them together.
We will, however, need to be bound by what is possible rather than aspirational!

Vicar of Smallthorne, priest in charge of Brown Edge
Secretary Redundant Churches Uses Committee.

Good news: but in the subjoined posting I reckon I
only wrote the second paragraph, eh?

I understand
from John Hyden (not a list member and previously unaware
of
correspondence here) that the removal of these bells is imminent.
Anyone
  got further information?

I don't wish to be patronising but it sounds
  from this as if Fr
Richard is going to be God's gift to the good folk of
  Hanley and to the
local ringers. When the time comes, the Exercise should
  respond
generously.
