The old 10th and 11th did stay in the tower, but as you say, the 9th was
scrapped.

tower - I had assumed it would have been boiled up. Does anyone know 
if in fact the bell still exists?"

 

It was at Taylor's for a while, but I believe it has since been scrapped
- no doubt Andrew will be able to confirm.
