Hello David.
I´ve talked to my brother and according to him no inscription is on the “back” of the bell.  Only the inscription as shown on the photos sent to you. The bell has no other markings elsewhere. I wonder about the year 1936. Iceland was occupied by the British 10. May 1940.  So the year 1936 is kind of “out of place”?

Having seen a photo of this bell there is absolutely no doubt it was cast for an airfield established circa 1936.   All your correspondent needs to do now is find an airfield in Iceland which fits!
