Hi Nick,
Julian Watson's online peal database lists the performance thus:
The Bristol Society
Bristol, . SS Philip & Jacob
5088 Spliced Surprise Major
in 03:04
Saturday, 14 October 1972
Composition : N J Diserens
1.
Cecile Colborne
2.
Heather A Kippin
3.
Vivienne M Rigby
4.
Elisabeth A G Bowden
5.
Alan Tubb
6.
Philip Bosworth
7.
Graham J N Colborne
8.
Robert C Kippin
Conducted by Robert C Kippin
1st 8-spliced:3,5
The listing on the Felstead Database casts no aspersions on the peal, but if
you want me to double-check I'll gladly dig out my RWs for 1972.

Indeed!
Please can anybody with access to the 1972 RW's or possibly early 1973 let
me know the band for the following peal:
14 Oct 1972 at Bristol, SS Philip & Jacob rung for the Bristol Society of
5088 Spliced Surprise Major (8m)
I'm intrigued to know if my Mum is listed and what bell she rang as she
doesn't think she was in it. I wonder if it could have been a hoax peal?
Thanks
Nick
