"He has generated a list of all G&J bells on pNBR showing among other
things, the crown classification. Very few are marked "B". I suspect a
lot of later bells should be."
Why should there be a lot? Button or flange headed bells aren't
particularly common. They are generally found on Naylor Vickers steel
bells (all of them), some Taylor bells of the first half of the C20
(generally the trebles of 12s or 10s), trebles of some G&J higher-number
ring, and on Trinity House buoy bells. Apart from these cases, they are
very rare.
