An interesting comparison:

1959: The Church Bells of Kent selling in Canterbury for 50/- (£2.50)

c.1970?): Richard Offen buys one for £25

2008: One was offered for £250 (and that's cheap)!

I believe it cost 12/6 when first published in 1887. That's 62.5p. What a
Jubilee present!

DLC

I was 1969 when I purchased my copy of Church Bells of Kent. In the same
year I purchased a near pristine copy of North’s Church Bells of
Leicestershire for 6 (old) pence. I spied it in a box of books at a jumble
sale! CJP eat your heart out!
