Church Bells of Shropshire says, under the article on Whitchurch:
The chapel of ease of DODINGTON in this town (erected 1836)
has one bell inscribed
THOMAS MEARS OF LONDON FOUNDER 1837. (30 in.
It is hung dead, and struck with outside clapper only.
Michael.

This appears to be from a redundant church. If it is a C of E church I wonder why the bell was not removed before the sale. It is expected that the contents are disposed of according to the directions of the Bishop.
I wonder if anyone has access to Church Bells of Shropshire which is where the bell is located. Having said this, Whitchurch is near the Welsh border so it may be from a church under Welsh jurisdiction.
John
