"the Conservation and repair of Bells and Bellframes" (1993) includes, in
its Appendix 5, guidance on bells in redundant churches.  This begins, "Some
redundant churches retain their bells.  Those likely to be demolished or
converted to secular use normally have their bells removed and securely
stored as soon as the future use of the fabric is determined."  Is Hanley
abnormal?
