Nice fence round the base - is that like putting a fence round the civic
christmas tree - to stop the yobs climbing it and nicking the light bulbs?

There must be several towers where the bells are partly visible from the
ground. Hear at Canewdon for example two or three of the bells can be seen
ringing through the glazed windows of the new bell chamber. This is
particularly noticeable at night when the lights inside the tower are on.
