Cyril Wratten, a former Secretary of the Central Council and a leading
ringer in Cheltenham,  spent many years researching references to bell
ringing in public libraries all over the country, with the aid of a pen,
paper, typewriter and a few helpers.  Dr  John Eisel, Central Council
Librarian and noted bell historian, has compiled Cyril's collection into a
magnificent book to which he has added contemporary illustrations and an
index.
This important publication reveals the spread of change ringing, the 'sport'
among ringers, the distances they were prepared to travel etc.
A resource for research projects, an ideal present and a good read!
