Lovesguide has now introduced a new way of presenting tuning figures which
makes use of colour coding to show where a partial is either sharp (shades
of blue) or flat (red) of true harmonic tuning (which is green). It also
compares nominals in a ring against established scales of e.g. Equal
Temperament.
A page briefly summarising this can be found at
http://kent.lovesguide.com//navigation/tuning.htm
An example of where this is demonstrated is at
http://kent.lovesguide.com/boxley. Here I have managed to get some before
and after figures for the tuning of these bells, and the colours make stark
interpretation.
Of course, it helps if you are not colour blind to fully appreciate these
presentations...
Comments about this (and anything else in my series) gratefully accepted.
