Subject: [Bell Historians] Stolen bells

Only two of the three bells stolen from Edwin Loach (Herefordshire) between
29th Dec 1997 and 4th Jan 1998 have been found. These two were found in a
shop window in Trowbridge in late 2003 by one of the Trowbridge ringers and
details were posted to this group by Anne Willis.

see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hereford/worcs/3475999.stm

The one still missing is :-

Inscription : * IOHN * ROGARS E * 1629 * S + B
(The numeral 6 is reversed, * and + are heart shaped ornaments)
Diameter : 12"

It is by Simon Baker, and might be too small for the "large" ones in Barnet.

David
