So it seems we are destined never to know the exact details of bar chimes! Do we know who manufactured them, what sort of size they were and what sort of apparatus was used to chime them? Are there any relics at Goldthorpe?

Subject: [Bell Historians] Copnor Bar Chime

Alan Buswell tells me that this chime was donated to the war effort during WWII in lieu of the church railings!! They were not particularly tuneful apparently.

In any case, they would have been lost when the church was bombed. The railings, however, did survive! ;-)
