[Bell Historians] Steel ring at Holy Trinity, Bolton

I've pursued this one a bit in the light of the suggestion that the bells had been recast just before the fire. On checking the Ringing World reports for 1919-1920, it turns out that the bells had just been REHUNG (not recast) immediately before the fire - and had not been rung since the work was completed.

It speaks volumes about the difference between today's permission- / regulation-constipated society and the freedom of yesteryear. The fire was on 11 November 1919 and by 26 December (when the RW reported it) the order for recasting had already been placed!
