I was part of a band which rang a peal at All Hallows Wellingborough
yesterday, and I noticed that the 28cwt tenor was cast in 1639 by Hugh
watts (the 7th is even older, 1620, but is only 21 cwt). Is this quite
a heavy bell for the early 17th century? What is the heaviest pre 1650
bell? Apologies if this has been covered before ir the information is
available elsewhere.
