Spain, Madrid, Basilica de San Francisco el Grande, (The Royal Church),
(Torre Sur, South Tower),
8, 7-0-12 in Ab, - Unringable, There is no floor under the bells, There is a
spiral staircase in the centre of
the ringing chamber with a 3 feet high steel railing.
The second, fourth & sixth have no wheels. (Torre Norte, North Tower)
11, 11-1-2 in F, - Unplayable chime, All the bells were cast by John Warner
& Sons in 1882.

I don't think the installation was ever completed but with all the British
ExPats living in Spain
they should be restored.

According to the report on the bells by Ranald Clouston in 1956
http://campaners.com/php/textos.php?text=1658
and looking at the pictures taken in 2006, the 2nd, 4th and 6th are now the
only bells with wheels. It is the treble, 3rd, 5th, 7th and tenor that are
now without wheels.
