I’m afraid this is down to me.
Nick Thomas has asked about Idle & I mistakenly (faulty memory) thought of the old 6 at Oxenhope.
In fact there was a single bell there, not by Shaw as Dennis Greenwood says, but according to Taylors Inspection notes, a Mears bell, 26” diameter, date not recorded.
This was NOT traded in when the new 8 were installed.

Subject: [Bell Historians] Shaw's Bells
This is on Facebook.
"Anyone got a history of Bradford bell foundry 'Shaw' ? I've recently learned that Holy Trinity, Idle, West Yorkshire may have had a set of Shaw bells up to 1914 when a new set of Taylors were installed. Can anyone confirm if there were any Shaw's bells at Idle ?"
I think that the answer is no - brand new ring - can anyone confirm
Mike
