An event that I am sure will interest many on this list.
The CC Library Committee and Biographies Committee have joined forces to
organise a day at Wellesbourne Parish Centre focused on:
Ringing History and Future Trends
We hope to make the link between ringing history (possibly seen by many as
a minority interest) and current concerns about the future of ringing,
which are engaging a lot of ringers.
We have lined up three speakers to talk on different aspects of the topic:
Richard Johnston: ' Ringing's future - sacred or secular' - reviewing the
legacy of Belfry Reform.
David Jones: 'Contrasting modern and historical issues in ringing' - and a
possible place for ringing in academic history.
Steve Coleman: 'Women in ringing - the past, the present and the future.'
This will be supplemented with generous time for discussion, time to
mingle, interesting items on sale or display and a home cooked lunch.
