I don't know if there's a correction in one of Paul Cattermole's books, but
perhaps it's worth mentioning that John Brend's will removes any lingering
uncertainty:

 

Will of John Brend, Bell Founder of Norwich, Norfolk, proved PCC 29 June
1659 (TNA ref: PROB 11/294)

 

Downloadable from the National Archives website for a couple of quid if
anyone wants to follow it up
