I am afraid that this is an inbuilt "feature" of using Outlook from Microsoft Office with an "office.com" email address.  They have been working on a fix for this for a while, but .......  Using the Outlook app on Windows 10 or a phone would cure this, but she didn't! 

 Hope that you have luck tracing her.
