Could they be scanned as a PDF? Then they could be freely available.

Just to add that I have one set of photocopies and know of another set which could be made available to anyone wishing to borrow them!

Further to David Bryant’s posting, I can confirm that the Walters Somerset Ms is now at the Somerset Heritage Centre (run by the South West Heritage Trust) at Brunel Way Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, England, TA2 6SF. That’s the successor of the old Somerset Record Office. Here are the catalogue details:

Manuscript on Somerset Church Bells, in two parts – 1. Introduction and parishes A-O, with typescript index to bell rubbings vols.IX-XII (Walters collection at Society of Antiquaries); 2. Parishes P-Y, related correspondence, and a few rubbings (Somerset R.O. DD\SAS\C/795/CH/16/1-2 – part 1 acquired in 1934, and part 2 received as accession no. DD\SAS\C\2464); also note of notes and sketches etc by H.B. Walters (DD\SAS\C/795/CH/17) noted as “not found on handing over but included in Winstanley list”

The two volumes were at one time in different locations, one held at the Record Office and the other by the Archaeological Society.. They have now been reunited!
