In the clocktower of the Museum of Iron there is a cast-iron or steel bell which I saw on a visit before Christmas. The clock strikes the hours on it. The bell has been painted golden brown and still has a cast-in staple as can be seen from this photo from TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g1936049-d261213-i285717755-Coalbrookdale_Museum_of_Iron-Coalbrookdale_Ironbridge_Gorge_Telford_Shro.html#285717755 https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g1936049-d261213-i285717755-Coalbrookdale_Museum_of_Iron-Coalbrookdale_Ironbridge_Gorge_Telford_Shro.html#285717755

There is no mention of this bell on the Naylor-Vickers list, did it come from somewhere else or was it cast in Coalbrookdale? Next time I'm passing I plan to arrange to measure and record it and see if its history is known. Meanwhile I thought I'd ask the experts.

 Regards and Happy New Year,

 Bill H
