Re the Cornhill peals, I'm not sure of the facts re Walter Prime's lost
peal, but I can add a little re the tenor. The canons were removed in 1910
and so before that date the weight of the bell was almost certainly over 40
cwt.

 

I've done quite a lot of work towards an article on the 40-cwt plus peal
list, covering the heavy rings, peals at each tower and the achievements of
individual ringers. Still on the "to finish" list, I'm afraid - but the
basic information on the successful performances is now on Pealbase
