That's a big issue I would suggest. It may even be one of the bigger 
reasons for Yahoo's change of policy, as it would undoubtedly free up a 
great deal of server storage and traffic.

The message archive could have considerable archival value, and it seems 
from the mailshot Yahoo sent me (and presumably everyone else), that 
this will simply be lost.

I also sub to a genealogy list hosted by Rootsweb (bought out by 
Ancestry some time ago), have been on it for over 20 years, and its 
online message archive frequently proves invaluable.
