Devon Bellringing, 1874 – 2023: A sesquicentenary history. By John Scott and
Lester Yeo

This new book, due for publication in March 2024, is a revised edition of
John Scott’s centenary history of the Guild of Devonshire Ringers originally
published in 1975. It is the result of much new research by Lester Yeo who
continues the history the Guild to the present day, and includes John
Scott’s original text unaltered, but supplemented by detailed footnotes. It
also includes new biographical notes on many of the leading figures in the
early history of the Guild, updated lists of Guild Officers and notable
peals and an index.

 

The new book will be an attractive illustrated publication of about 180
pages, cased-bound with a laminated cover. Orders for Pre-publication
Subscriptions are now being taken and subscribers’ names will be included in
the book. The subscriber price is £12 with an additional £4 for postage to
have a copy sent to you. The price on publication will be £15. Orders can be

Lester gave an entertaining presentation about some of the results of his
research at a recent Guild meeting in Withycombe Raleigh. A link to a
