The only other bell I’ve come across by this firm is at Mark Beach in my home county of Kent. It was cast in 1852 and is 25.75" in diameter. I believe their foundry was in Bishopsgate, London, but more research is required to find out more about this manufacturer.

Subject: [Bell Historians] Further information

Dear All

In our church in Derbyshire, we have discovered more information about the bell in our tower which has not rung for more than 50 years and is difficult to get to.

It was made by Barrett and Osborne in 1853 and we wondered where we could find out more information about Barrett and Osborne.

If you could guide me to where we might find out more, we would be very grateful.

Many thanks
