[Cherry-hinton-ringers] Cherry Hinton QP opportunity - Sat 29 February 2.30pm

[Amanda Cator]

Hi All

I feel like I should send this around as - free beer anyone ?....but you'll have to ring a QP first !

Cherry Hinton church are organising a Festival Weekend to celebrate the renovation works which have been completed on Saturday 29 February - there will be a pop-up pub installed in the church on Fri 28 and Sat 29 Feb.

Karin has asked that before the pub opens at 4pm on Saturday 29 Feb whether we would like to ring a QP as part of the celebrations.

I've already received a volunteer for the tenor! If anyone else would like to ring, I suggest we meet for 2.30pm and start 2.45pm to be finished by around 3.30pm giving half an hour for anyone coming into the church early to see what goes on in the tower, up until 4pm when the pub opens.

Suggest we ring something that can withstand the setting up of a pub going on around us - perhaps Grandsire Doubles. Although I'll have a word with anyone in the church in advance to work on keeping the noise down while ringing is taking place.

I can't completely confirm - but there has been a rumour that the first pint is FOC !

This would replace the first Sunday of the month QP for March as the church is being used for other celebration activities on Sun 1 March afternoon.

So taking all that on board - any takers ?

Thanks
