[Cherry-hinton-ringers] Lunchtime Housewarming BBQ - 7th September

Hi all,

As mentioned briefly in the practice schedule email, I would like to cordially invite you all to a 🔥🍖 Housewarming BBQ 🍖🔥 at my new residence (15 Grange Road, Ickleton, CB10 1SZ - https://maps.app.goo.gl/8tJNYyUaWM63z65r8) lunchtime (from 12pm) on Saturday 7th September.

I appreciate this may be short notice for some - sincere apologies if this does not slot nicely into anyone's calendar! If the event is successful, I suppose it could become an annual tradition (or there may be another opportunity for a BBQ in the future at any rate). So never fear, there may be occasion yet to watch me burn some burgers 😅

There are a few things to consider:

Parking
There is parking on Grange Road, but it can be a little busy in front of the house. People may be able to park on the grassy verge opposite (residents do this sometimes if there's not enough space). Otherwise, you will likely find some space on Abby Street (main artery through Ickleton).

To ease the burden of parking and to save burning fuel, please try to carpool if at all possible.

Chairs/Tables
People may want to sit down to eat, but I currently have a very limited number of chairs (3) and but 1 table (seats ~6 people). I will try to arrange for some additional chairs to be brought along to make the experience more commodious.

Food (Variety and Quantity)
The quantity of food and drink required will depend on the number of guests. I think it could make sense to do what the EDA does for the annual meal, i.e. everyone brings one items and we attempt to satisfy the diversity of food people might enjoy/require. I am quite happy supplying some food and drink of course - particularly drink as this is likely to be less perishable than food 🙂

Personally, I think it would be nice to have an array of food like meat, vegetarian alternatives (that can be BBQ'd), salad, dessert. Feel free to put down what you might like to bring on the spreadsheet 🙂

Weather
I do not really have a contingency plan for poor weather ⛈️. We could all bunch up inside the house (though it may feel a little cramped), or we could cancel if the weather is set to be rather threatening in advance of the event!
