Another stupid question

We at BUSCR have been ringing a method that has not been named yet but on 
investigating

What is the etiquate regarding this, choose a new name or stick with the 
old. If anyone has the Ringing Word 1994 page 591 I'd be interested to see 
who rang this method in the first place
