I know that historically not all reverse methods are
named "reverse something" but can anyone tell me why
Reverse Single Court Bob Minor and Reverse Single
Oxford Bob Minor have been named Bridge's Pleasure Bob
Minor and Dewsbury Bob Minor?

Is it to do with the fact that the "Reverses" in these
cases don't produce regular lead ends or is it just
that the first band(s) that thought of ringing them to
a quarter or a peal decided not to call them by their
Reverse names?
