Chris Munday, whose minor principles I featured in the "compositions of the decade" series, has been developing his ideas further.
He gives an update in the two recent emails copied below (see also the attachments). Chris has given me permission to forward these to this list.
Any ideas or comments welcome.
Philip

Philip,
Here are a few examples for you (use wordpad to open).
There are three parameters I have looked at -
The number of 65s at backstroke.
ex1 and ex2 are 2 examples with no 65s.
The amount of right places (score out of 30)
A - x in every alternate place notation - 100% is not possible.
B - x or 34 in every alternate place notation (as Kent TB).
ex3 and ex6 both have B above - this means all leading and lying is right.
This could be a boredom measure since all the work in 56 is simply dodge(s) + lie + dodge(s).
A measure of how static the line is
This is possibly more relevant than either of the above.
The three numbers are the maximum adjacent blows in 12, 34 and 56
ex4 is very static with a score of 74/14/14 - see 3rds place bell !
ex5 is very fluid with a score of 8/6/8
Chris

Philip,
You kindly mentioned the above in your composition review so I am sending you an update.
Given the restrictions of the search which you state there are four lead head groups, i.e.
1 123456 > 241635
2 123456 > 251364
3 123456 > 465213
4 123456 > 456312
I am concentrating on the first of these, i.e. original lead heads, and have investigated the tree (see xls attached).
The principles starting 34.16x14 are all on Roddy's website and number 104,309.
As these represent ~8% of the total this indicates there are some 1.3 million possibilities for these lead heads alone.
So far I have also found ~ 36000 that start the next possibility, 34.16x36 (still ongoing).
Anyway, thanks for your interest
Chris Munday
