[r-t] List subscriber summary

A couple of people have asked me how many people there are subscribed to the ringing-theory list, as the subscriber list is only viewable to the Administrators (John Camp and me).

There are currently 223 email addresses subscribed, though 18 are on "no-mail". A few people are subscribed with more than one email address, and so I'd estimate the number of individuals receiving emails is currently about 190.  About 2/3rds of subscribers get individual emails each time a message is sent, with the remaining third receiving the digest.

For information, the number of subscribers has risen slowly but fairly steadily since the initial burst when the list was created in August 2004.  John Camp's excellent "from the e-lists" column in the Ringing World helped keep this and other lists very visible, but since it sadly ceased word of mouth seems to be working to some degree.

I certainly don't feel we're stagnating, but new members with an interest in ringing theory are always welcome - please all spread the word as appropriate if the situation arises.
