I was interested to see a new composition by Thomas Perrins that's
recently appeared on www.ringing.org

I'm drawn to the 10 part structure, containing the tenors-fixed plain bob
course ends and their reverses. This is a very tidy and attractive
arrangement.

Have there been previous major compositions on similar lines?

Of course, the choice of methods in Tom's composition is rather tired.
However, it's interesting to see from www.peals.co.uk that towerbell peals
of spliced surprise major in 8 methods hit a record low in 2010, whilst 23
spliced major reached a new high. There's a good chance that 23-spliced
will overtake 8-spliced before too long, which has got to be a positive
sign.
