For what little it's worth the best course for this principle (where
"best" is defined as "most runs of four or more consecutive bells,
ascending or decending, anywhere in the row, but without considering
possible wraps between consecutive rows") is the plain course, or its
reverse. Not surprising.

With just a little work, we could probably turn this thread into the
ringing-theory equivalent of the ringing on the moon thread on
change-ringers....
