​​It is also worth noting that some conventions are historical, and some
are deliberate inventions. This is one of the latter invented by the
Methods Committee somewhat recently. The Council's own method collections
through at least the 1960s (fourth edition of the _Collection of Minor
Methods_), and possibly even more recently, referred to Cambridge Minor as
having an H lead end.
