|It has been shown that the extension of LS6 -> LS8 has no PB lead-ends at
least as far as 60!

I've no doubt it's possible to write program to check considerably higher
than 60 but that's not the same as a proof that holds for every one of the
infinitely many cases ofcourse.
Somewhat hypothetical ofcourse (who is going to ring London on >60 ) but is
there not now a rule stating than an extension must go work on an infinite
number of stages. If London S Major were named today would it be allowed to
be called London? And if not how would could it be proven that the
extension doesn't go on an infinite number of stages?
