[Stretham-rec] Stretham REC, Saturday 17th December

Dear all,

The REC is open as usual this Saturday, 17th December.

If you would like to come along to the REC this Saturday 17th December for
individual bell handling training between 10:00 and 12:15, please let me
know by emailing strethamrec at elyda.org.uk  on or before Wednesday 14th, so
we can organise times and teachers. I will try to fulfil all requests, and
confirm the times by email on Thursday.

Beginners band practice will start at 12:15. It is helpful, but not
essential, if you can let me know if you will be coming along for this so
we can tailor the practice to what people would like to ring. Support
ringers and students are very welcome to join us.

Students are asked for a donation of £3 per session.

Please note that 17th December is the day of the Christmas Fair in Stretham
church. Anyone visiting the Fair who wants to come up and see the ringing
is welcome to do so. So expect a few more people around than usual, and
please be prepared to act as ambassadors for ringing. There is also the
opportunity to visit the stalls of the Christmas Fair, of course.

Saturday 17th Dec is the last session of 2022 at the REC. No session on
24th or 31st Dec, nor on 7th January. We will start again on 14th January.
So may I wish all REC students a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Depending on your circumstances, please consider helping your local tower
with their Christmas ringing - do consult the REC teachers about whether
this would be appropriate for you.

On 7th January, the Ely District will be holding its Annual District
Meeting at Burwell and all REC students are warmly invited to attend. There
will be ringing from 2.30 - 4.30, then a short service in the church
followed by tea and the Annual Meeting itself.
