[Stretham-rec] The REC Saturday 4th July

Dear Ringers!

Our next District Meeting is at Wicken (St Lawrence, 5 bells, 7 1/2 cwt,
CB7 5LT) on Sat 11th July meeting at 6pm onwards with ringing at 7pm, a
lovely country church (with a loo!) - be aware the main car park is across
the (busy) main road, and a little bit concealed.

Please bring a snack or two to share - crisps, sausage rolls, biscuits,
crudites... Drinks will be provided. We will meet from 6pm with ringing
starting at 7pm for as long as there's the desire to ring! Special methods
on 4 bells with a cover: Demi-Bristol Alliance Minimus, Bastow Minimus; and
on 5 bells: touches of Stedman Doubles, touches of Grandsire, Slapton
Doubles, and of course Rounds and Call Changes, Plain Hunt and Plain Bob.
Tutors will be on hand, *All welcome!* Why not bring a friend and show them
what your hobby is all about?!

Wicken has a lovely pub with seating out on the village green (I am writing
this in the current heat wave and so, of course, I am envisaging there will
be wonderful weather on 11th July too) so is well worth a visit either
before or after the practice. Enjoy!

Also, this Saturday is the Ringing World National Youth Contest at
Nottingham, we hope our very own Fen Tigers band have a fantastic time
competing! If you know any young ringers who might like to be involved with
other young ringers tell them to get in contact!
