Chilcompton (old) tenor clapper used to break quite regularly - it was prone 
to breakage if someone had rung it up wrong. If the clapper & bell hit each 
other in opposite directions there is a greater impact than if both are 
traveling in the same direction.

My guess would be that the crown staple would give up before too long - it 
looks pretty shaky anyway!
