I don't know if this is relevant but some contributors may not realise that
the usual retail discount on books is 331/3 per cent but Smiths want at
least 50 percent which is why writers of short print run books such as those
I write never go to Smiths. If at all possible it is better for the author
to order direct. I my case having written 13 books with all but three
being self published I only just cover the cost of publication. Indeed if
I recorded all the letters and phone calls I would easily lose money.
