Split-level belfries

Leigh, Surrey are rung from the west gallery, with the ringers 
standing on various bits of furniture such as pews, organ blowers etc.

I remember many years ago going on a ringing trip to Ilam in 
Staffordshire, which has a steep ladder and a small trapdoor into the 
ringing room. Jean Sanderson rang one of the bells through the 
trapdoor from the floor below with an extra length of rope tied to 
the tail-end.
