It's as dead as an ex-parrot, isn't it?
It was rather graphically described me a sounding like the back end
of a cow being hit with a dung covered spade! (Though "dung covered"
was not quite the phrase he used!)
I heard Great George being chimed when I was in the ringing room
quite some time ago and it did not sound as impressive as I would
have thought it might. What does it sound like from outside the
Cathedral?
