Bells made from alternative materials

Several years ago I discovered a bell in a Blackburn church made of 
cast iron(it origonally came from Russia) and it is hung for ringing.
I also remember reading in some old book that there was apparently a 
bell made of wood for a Ripon church in the 1800s.
Then of course we have ceramic bells.
Does anyone know of any other unusual materials that bells have 
been made of?
Have glass bells ever been hung in a church?
