As Alan & David have correctly said the original three were rehung by Fred =
Pembleton in a six bell frame; a further bell ex-South Petherton was later =
installed by Fred to augment to four. Since then another bell has been offe=
red but it was declined, presumably because of lack of funds.
The surplus bell for Kirkby Malham came from Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire supp=
lied by Eayre & Smith Ltd. A bell from Laira, Plymouth was to have been ins=
talled until it was found that its actual tonal analysis was completely dif=
ferent to that supplied by the seller! It has since been put on offer to No=
rmanton, West Yorshire but they have now decided not to proceed with an aug=
mentation project in the forseable future. It is now destined to be install=
ed as a single swing chiming bell at Dowlais near Merthyr Tydfil.
