The bellframe at Elsenham was described as decayed when it was removed from
the tower in 1958, so the 1903/4 rehang was probably in an older frame.The
ringing fittings were still in the tower in 1983, most of these with the
exception of the clappers appeared to date from the rehang.

I don't know who did the rehang, the bells are William
Culverden(1506-22), treble; John Dier 1600, second; Thomas Mears Junior
1819, third and John Greene, itinerant, 1572 tenor. There is only a semitone
between third and tenor and the interval between two and three is not right
either.

The bells now hang on two RSJs
