Swythamley

When I started work in Wythenshawe after university, 25 years ago, my 
first boss (a non-ringer) was keenly interested in water-mills. He 
stumbled across a reference to 'water-powered bells', which turned 
out to be the chime at Swythamley. I vaguely remember him going to 
have a look and coming back with photographs of a chiming drum turned 
by a hydraulic motor.
